Woman sexually assaulted at Exeter nightclub

Police are appealing to the public for their assistance after launching an investigation into a sexual assault in an Exeter Nightclub.

Investigating officer Chris Raddan, said: “This incident relates to an alleged sexual assault within the top floor bar at Rosie’s Nightclub, Mary Arches Street, Exeter, at approximately 12.45am on Sunday 1 October.

Old Mill’s longest serving employee is retiring after 41 years. Di Hale, 69, has been receptionist at the South West-based accountants and financial planners since 1976. Back then, Old Mill was called Berkeley Hall & Co and the offices were on the High Street in Shepton Mallet. Di had moved from her home town of Dunstable in Kent in where she was working for a printing firm to join Old Mill. Ahead of what is going to be a busy festive period for the Exeter Chiefs, stars from the Aviva Premiership club today took time out to pay a special visit to the Bramble Children’s Unit at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital.

Police appeal after spate of dog thefts

Police are appealing to the public for information following several reports of theft of dogs from North and South Molton.

The first incident happened at the kennels on The Square in North Molton on Friday 15 December between 9am and 5pm.

Three dogs were all pedigree cocker spaniels. The first dog was a small female seven-year-old black Devonshire Faith spaniel, the second dog was an 18-month-old black Hillside Harriet female with a white bib, and the third dog was a gold Badgeberry Troufseau Hope spaniel. CDS to deliver superfast broadband to thousands more in Devon

A major expansion of broadband rollout across Devon and Somerset has received Government approval to provide thousands more homes and businesses in Devon with access to a superfast connection.

The Government’s Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) agency has given the go-ahead for Connecting Devon and Somerset (CDS) to increase access to its planned ultrafast (up to 1,000Mbps) broadband with Gigaclear to over 3,000 more homes and businesses in hard to reach areas of Devon. RGB Building Supplies is thanking the Exeter community for donating gifts to its 2017 Christmas Present Appeal. All presents have now been given to Children’s Hospice South West to pass on to the children and families it supports.

Following a call out inviting customers and the local community to donate gifts suitable for a child of any age or their parents, over 300 gifts were placed under Christmas trees in RGB branches.

North Devon Link Road resurfacing upgrade to start in the new year

A £5 million upgrade of the North Devon Link Road’s surface and drainage will get underway early in the new year.

Over 10km of the A361 will be resurfaced on both carriageways as part of the Devon County Council scheme, which is being funded by the Council’s successful bid for Challenge Funding. Pavement stencils promote Exeter Quay

Eye-catching pavement stencils have been spray painted on Exeter city centre streets to promote the Quayside while the area undergoes flood defence work. The City Council has carried out the work using biodegradeable chalk-based paint which eventually washes off, to give the traders a boost.
