A rare opportunity to experience life in the late 16th century in one of Exeter’s finest historical buildings. With the exclusive use of the Priory, participants can immerse themselves in Tudor life with the History Re-enactment Workshop’s Tudor family.
Activities include cooking, sewing and needlecrafts, writing, still room work and song and dance. Bring an apron, notepad, shoes you can dance in and a packed lunch. Tea and coffee is provided.

If you’ve got a budding donkey groom in the family, why not bring them along for a special one-on-one session with one of the donkeys in our events team. A 20 minute session will introduce under 16s to the basics of donkey care, after which the Donkey Dudes will leave with a certificate detailing what they’ve learnt.

Spring is finally doing it’s thing at Knightshayes, a National Trust property on the outskirts of Tiverton in Devon. It has come not a moment too soon, as Friday 10 May sees the property hosting its annual National Gardens Scheme open day.
The gardens team at Knightshayes are delivering a series of introductory tours of the Kitchen, Formal and Woodland Gardens throughout the day to help people understand their significance, and why the continued work on their conservation is so important. The tours will be running at 12 noon, 2pm and 3pm, and will be free to join.
Devon County Council will be raising the European flag at County Hall to mark international Europe Day. The ceremony will take place at 12.30pm on Thursday 9 May.
Exactly 63 years ago the French Foreign Minister, Robert Schuman, took the first steps in a speech that held out a hand of friendship to Germany, towards the creation of the European Economic Community, which developed to become the European Union.
Mr Schuman spoke of their two countries cooperating with each other to pool their economic resources, and to no longer be enemies.
