Martyn Joseph - “Songs for the Coming Home” Autumn Tour 2012 Martyn Joseph is as performer like no other. Touring in support of a brand new studio album “Songs for the Coming Home”, shades of Springsteen, John Mayer, Bruce Cockburn and Dave Matthews there may be – but he stands in his own right, built on a reputation for giving what thousands have described as the best live music experience of their lives.

Venue:
Otterton Mill

We round off 2012 with "the most remarkable bluesman of his generation" (Blues in Britain). This charismatic multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and one man band is one of our most entertaining acts.

Eddie has the rare knack of writing blues songs that speak of now while paying dues to yesterday. His performance energy is infectious, as his national steel guitar, rack mounted harmonic and suitcase (acting as bass drum) pound out driving rhythms to complement his soulful vocals.

Eddie is celebrating a phenomenal year, winning Act of the Year in the SW Blues Awards and...

Virgin retains South West Coast line, for now

The Department for Transport is in negotiations with Virgin Rail Group for them to continue providing rail services on the West Coast Main Line for a temporary period. This follows the fiasco that saw the London-Manchester-Glasgow service awarded to FirstGroup before a judicial review sought by Virgin stopped the contracts being signed.

The current franchise is due to expire on 9 December, after which it is the government’s intention that Virgin remain as operator for a short period – expected to be between 9 and 13 months – while a competition is run for an interim...
