Cumberland Grange in Exeter marked the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day in style by throwing a 1940s afternoon tea party to remember. The home was decorated in red, white and blue and residents and their families enjoyed an afternoon of live music and dancing.

Head chef Chris whipped up delicious cream teas and fruit platters, all washed down with pots of tea and celebratory jugs of Pimms to mark the occasion.

Staff, residents, relatives and the local community came together at Lucerne House to enjoy a community BBQ that was held in the home’s grounds on Saturday 3rd May.

The hospitality team at Lucerne House served a selection of BBQ favourites including burgers, hot dogs, vegetable kebabs and a selection of homemade salads and slaw which were enjoyed by everyone who came to the event.

Cumberland Grange care home in Exeter recently raised over ÂŁ300 following on from a successful coffee morning held at the home raising money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, also known as the RNLI.

Volunteers from the RNLI were also present at the coffee morning with their pop-up shop, selling an array of different goodies from cards to diaries and ornaments, with all funds going straight to the charity. Speak George Hislop also attended and held an informative talk on the history of the RNLI which residents and community members found incredibly insightful.
