Teignbridge’s army of waste teams are getting out and about to help ensure beaches, parks and beauty spots are free from summer rubbish – but they are urging residents and visitors to help them out.
The council is providing its busy resorts with extra litter and wheelie bins and is also arranging for extra street cleans to get underway but hopes locals, holidaymakers and businesses to help ‘keep it clean’ by disposing of rubbish safely or taking it home with them.
Waste and cleansing teams are working hard to make sure all the additional litter from people using public...

Exeter Golf and Country Club has submitted a planning application to Exeter City Council for high safety netting around part of its boundary.
A development of around 25 new houses, called Great Woodcote Park, are being built by Charles Church, which is part of the Persimmon group, on a section of the golf course boundary.
The Club has been advised by two separate specialist golf architects that the houses are sited too close to the boundary, increasing the risk of golf balls leaving the course and causing injury or damage.
Meet the firefighters and watch them demonstrate how they deal with house fires, chip pan fires, and road traffic collisions. There will be a bouncy castle, "soak the firefighter", refreshments, barbecue and lots more from 10am-4pm.
