Watch your speed on South Devon Link Road

New speed monitoring measures are being put in place along the South Devon Link Road construction site.

A temporary 40 mph speed restriction was introduced on Hamelin Way, Torquay earlier this year to ensure the safety of road users and construction staff.

The new speed limit was imposed because the area had become a busy location with construction work being carried out adjacent to the road.

On Saturday 27 September, members of the public are invited to come along to the Imperial Recreation Ground slipway in Exmouth at 1pm for a couple of hours of litter picking followed by a relaxing cruise on the Estuary with free buffet (places limited).

Government plans to capture Devon beavers may be unlawful

Friends of the Earth has called for an immediate halt to Government plans to capture wild beavers on the River Otter in Devon, warning that any such moves may be unlawful. In a letter sent to Environment Secretary Liz Truss, the environmental charity outlined its concerns regarding the legality of capturing the beavers, explaining that since Britain formed part of the natural range of beavers - and since there were already free living populations in Scotland - they should be covered by EU laws governing protected species. Exeter gives students a leg up in industry

Students with a love of horse racing are being given the opportunity to become Exeter Racecourse’s official Student ambassador with a series of additional work experience days giving them a leg up in the industry.

The new role, which lasts for the duration of Exeter’s season from October until May, includes placements with various work providers within the industry.

Upon completion, they will be given a reference by Exeter’s general manager Tim Darby and testimonials from each partner who has signed up for the exciting initiative.

easyProperty, the latest venture from easyGroup, has turned to crowdfunding to help raise funds and change the face of the traditional estate agency market.
