Rock Solid Race returns to its roots

This March sees Rock Solid Race returning to Escot Park for the third time – bringing with it more obstacles, more races and more days to do it in (the event will be running on both days this year).

Founder and owner Ashley Jardine is thrilled with the reaction to the event. Having left a safe career as an Optician just three years ago, he took a big gamble on carving out a new career in Obstacle Racing. It looks like it has paid off.

Snow, heavy rain and gales set to hit Devon

The Met Office has issued three weather warnings as snow, strong winds and heavy rain are expected to hit the region this week.

Showers of hail, sleet and snow on Tuesday evening and overnight are likely to leave a covering of snow of 3-6 cm in places, especially on ground over 100m but also locally to lower levels too.

Icy patches will also form on untreated surfaces making driving conditions tricky.

Exeter Race for Life gets Pretty Muddy

Exeter women are being urged to fight dirty when it comes to conquering cancer - by signing up now for an exciting new event from Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life.

The city has been chosen to host one of just two Race for Life Pretty Muddy events taking place in the South West this summer.

Pretty Muddy is a women-only, non-competitive 5k obstacle course – with added mud. It will take place for the first time in Exeter at Westpoint Arena on Saturday, July 25.

JLL’s Exeter office has announced it is moving to the best office building in central Exeter – The Senate.

The move to larger premises, from nearby Keble House, is a reflection of the global property firm's ongoing success and need to accommodate its growing team.

The property consultancy firm, which has had a presence in the city since 1990, has agreed to take a large part of the ground floor of the office building, from landlord Valad, as the firm continues to expand its business. It has agreed terms on over 4,500 sq ft of Grade A office space.

Traineeship places available at River Cottage

River Cottage have released 15 sought-after spaces for their Traineeship Scheme to start this January. Available to everyone aged 16-24 across both Devon and Dorset, the scheme will run from 26 January for three months.

Beach huts improvements get thumbs up

East Devon District Council cabinet has recommended that an extensive refurbishment and replacement programme be put in place to improve the current provision of its popular beach huts and chalets at Sidmouth, Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton, Seaton and Beer.
