It’s free for kids and one of the best days out in the Easter holidays on March 31.

Exeter Racecourse’s annual family day, sponsored by Finlake Holiday Park, is a firmly established tradition with a host of activities to enjoy, and with horse racing firmly at its heart.

A new website to provide information, help and support to parents using neonatal services in the South West has been launched.

The South West Neonatal Network website has been designed to provide a comprehensive resource for parents whose new babies are being treated at any one of the region’s neonatal units. The South West Neonatal Network is an operational delivery network funded on behalf of the region by NHS England.

Regen SW, a centre for sustainable energy expertise based in Exeter, hosted a community energy feast last weekend to celebrate the volunteers and groups working tirelessly to establish community energy projects in the region. These projects are being set up to benefit local communities and generate income to make them more vibrant and sustainable places to live.

Game on for Honiton's petanque pitch

East Devon District Council has been working hard with Honiton Town Council and local resident Chris Bigmore on a project that has ended up providing residents with a new petanque 'terrain' or playing area. Petanque is a game where players throw metal ‘boules’ with the aim of getting as many of their own closer to the wooden Jack than their opponents.

New report calls for more homes

More than 2,000 homes need to be built each year in the Exeter ‘Housing Market Area’, a new report says.

The latest Strategic Housing Market Assessment (SHMA) recognises that between 2,172 and 2,601 dwellings need to be built to meet housing need. The Area covers Exeter, East Devon, Mid Devon, Teignbridge and part of Dartmoor National Park.

Two Exeter Chiefs rugby players, Alex Brown and Carl Rimmer, will be hidden in a secret location in the city on Wednesday 25th March, as part of a competition launched by Exeter Chiefs and Britannia Lanes, ‘How’ Find Your Pow Wow Friends. Devon Hotels Association member, Woodbury Park Hotel and Golf Club was among the winners at this year’s South West wedding awards which took place at the Plymouth Guildhall on Thursday 12th March 2015.

The 4 star hotel won best Devon wedding venue on the night beating off strong competition.

Man seriously injured in Exeter assault

Detectives have released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an unprovoked attack that left the victim seriously injured in Exeter city centre.

A 25-year-old man, from the Exmouth area, was with a group of friends on Saturday 7 February when he was followed by two unknown men.

One of the men allegedly punched the victim in the face in Fore Street, between 3.15am and 3.30am. He suffered a serious facial injury as a result and attended Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital for treatment.
