RGB encourages firms to support community

In April 2014, RGB Building Supplies launched their Well Built Community Fund and since then have been giving away £1,000 worth of building materials to different deserving groups every other month to help with renovations and projects.

Devon County Council wins national ‘flu fighter’ award

Devon County Council was among six winners today at the annual national NHS flu fighter awards. The panel of judges, including the editor of Nursing Times magazine Jenni Middleton, said that the Devon team’s remarkable efforts will be promoted across the country to inspire similar work. The awards are part of the NHS flu fighter campaign run by NHS Employers, which has helped increase the number of frontline NHS staff having flu vaccinations by 182,000 since it began in 2011. Expanding local independent retailer signs lease on second shop

Exeter-based independent retailer Queenstreet Carpets and Furnishings, based in Alphington, announces it has signed the lease on a second store in Topsham which is to open on the 1st May.

The expanding family-owned business was founded by the late Malcolm Dixie and his wife Nikki in 1968 and was originally based in Queen Street, Exeter. SWH, a local contractor providing civil engineering, highway maintenance and build solutions throughout the south west, has recently been awarded two Considerate Constructor’s Awards.

Webb Ellis Cup heads for Exeter

Rugby's greatest prize, the Webb Ellis Cup, will visit Exeter on 10 and 11 July during the Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour.

Launching on June 10, 100 days to go to the opening match, the Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour will travel through Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Wales and England before arriving at Twickenham Stadium on September 18 ahead of the Opening Ceremony.
