Food Festival lunch a hit with Exeter Chamber members

Over 110 people attended the April networking lunch which was held at the Exeter Festival of South West Food and Drink. The event was sponsored by Living Coasts and Paignton Zoo and the presentation topic was sustainable fishing in the South West. The speakers included Felicity Sylvester who has over 25 years’ experience of teaching and demonstrations about seasonal local caught fish and shellfish. Felicity was a partner in Sylvester Seafoods - a trawling, potting and mussel collecting business in Appledore in 1980s and has sold a wide range of Devon smoked fish at local markets and online...

A budding local author, Kristie Herd, 29 from Exeter, is on the hunt for pledges in a bid to release her debut novel, Love’s Vindication.

Kristie, a Helpdesk Officer at Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service, has approached a number of publications but as yet, has had little success. That was until she discovered Kickstarter, an organisation dedicated to finding new ways to fund innovative projects, big or small.

The Devon & Somerset Law Society (DASLS) has announced a programme of events to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the signing of Magna Carta.

DASLS is acknowledged in the legal profession as one of the most active and innovative UK law societies and, in association with Exeter University and Exeter City Council, it is amongst the first to arrange events to commemorate a pivotal moment in British history.
