Exceptional Exeter College once again awarded “Outstanding” by Ofsted

Exeter College is celebrating after a full Ofsted Inspection, which has resulted in the College retaining the impressive accolade ofOutstanding.

Eight years since its last inspection Ofsted again confirmed that Exeter College is an Outstanding College. The College also scored the top assessment of ‘strong’ for its approach to meeting the skills needs of the area. This makes Exeter College the first college in the country to achieve the highest judgement in both elements of Ofsted’s new enhanced inspections.

Marsh Barton station opening delayed

Trains won’t now stop at the forthcoming Marsh Barton station until the spring.

It had been hoped the ‘halt’, located alongside Exeter’s energy from waste plant, would open before the end of 2022, but Devon County Council says the project has faced “challenges” with building supplies and recent weather conditions.

While construction is now “substantially complete” on the £16 million scheme, it adds that standard ‘entry-to-service’ procedures will need to be completed before it can open to passengers. These will begin soon.

Leading South West accountancy firm and business advisers, Westcotts has led on the successful acquisition of a family-run tool cutting business for one of its Gloucestershire-based clients.

The firm’s Exeter corporate finance team acted as the lead adviser to Stroud tooling solutions company CR Hollands Industrial Supplies on the merger with Concept Tooling (UK) Limited in Gloucester.

Taco Bell opens in Exeter

Taco Bell. the world-famous Mexican-inspired restaurant brand will opened a new restaurant in Sidwell Street, Exeter for dine in, take away and click and collect orders on Tuesday (24 January). The launch will marked the brand’s 126th UK restaurant opening.

Leading South West independent waste management firm DCW has launched a new disposable vape recycling service in a bid to divert potentially hazardous waste away from landfill.

Expanding its existing Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) recycling service, DCW can now provide businesses with a 23-litre caddy so that disposable vape users can recycle the casing and batteries of vapes responsibly.
