Today's Chiefs side to face Dragons

Having already advanced to the latter stages of European competition, Exeter Chiefs know victory in Wales this weekend will see them edge ever closer to the last four of this season’s LV= Cup.

Impressive home victories over Gloucester and Bath have positioned Rob Baxter’s side top of their pool at the halfway stage - and another success today (Sunday) against Newport-Gwent Dragons at Rodney Parade (2:30pm) will have the Devon club all but there in terms of qualification.

However, the Chiefs are well aware any trip into the Principality is far from easy and that a semi-final...

Baxter: Parling can have a positive influence

Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter believes new signing Geoff Parling can have a “positive influence” on and off the field at Sandy Park after he today agreed terms with the Aviva Premiership club.

The England and British Lions lock, who has penned a two-year deal with the Chiefs, joins from league rivals Leicester Tigers, where he has amassed 89 appearances in total since signing in 2009 from former club Newcastle Falcons.

As one of two new arrivals confirmed by Baxter today, the other being Bath speedster Olly Woodburn, Baxter believes he has recruited two proven, top-...

Exeter Chiefs have strengthened their back-three options ahead of the 2015/16 season with the capture of Olly Woodburn from Aviva Premiership rivals Bath Rugby.

The 23-year-old back is one of two new arrivals confirmed by head coach Rob Baxter today, joining England and British Lions lock Geoff Parling in agreeing terms on a two-year deal with the Sandy Park outfit.

Woodburn joined the Bath Academy in 2010 having been schooled at Colston’s School in Bristol and a year later made his first team debut, scoring a try inside two minutes against the Newport-Gwent Dragons....

Leicester Tigers star joins Chiefs

Geoff Parling says he’s ready to start a new chapter of his playing career after today agreeing terms on a two-year contract with the Exeter Chiefs.

The England and British Lions forward is Rob Baxter’s first major signing ahead of the 2015/16 season and joins from Aviva Premiership rivals Leicester Tigers.

Signed by the Tigers in 2009 from Newcastle Falcons, the 31-year-old has enjoyed a stellar spell at Welford Road where he helped the East Midlands club to twice lift English rugby’s Premiership title, as well as featuring in all three Test matches for the Lions against...

Whitten aims to kick on

Ian Whitten believes he and his Exeter Chiefs team-mates must use the joy of European qualification as the driving force to kick on further in the defence of their LV= Cup crown.

Having booked a home date with Newcastle Falcons in the last eight of this season’s European Challenge Cup with victory over Bayonne last weekend, attention at Sandy Park this week has now switched to this Sunday’s showdown with the Dragons at Rodney Parade (2:30pm).

With home wins over league rivals Gloucester and Bath already accrued in this season’s LV= Cup, the Chiefs will be looking to further...

Baxter hails White's contribution

Rob Baxter has hailed Ben White as one of the “success stories” of Exeter Chiefs after the all-action forward today agreed terms on a new two-year deal with the club.

White, who joined the Chiefs in 2011 from the Cardiff Blues, is the latest in a line of current Exeter stars to re-affirm their commitment to the Devon club in recent weeks.

A destructive on-field force, the Australian-born back-row ace has to date amassed 84 appearances, scoring 15 tries in the process.

Since arriving from the Welsh region, White has helped play an integral part in the rise of the...

Exeter Chiefs side to face Bayonne

Rob Baxter believes the incentive of a home quarter-final can act as the ideal motivation for his Exeter Chiefs side ahead of their final Pool Two fixture against Bayonne in this season's European Challenge Cup (5.30pm) today.

Having already bagged themselves a last eight spot courtesy of last weekend's 33-24 win at Connacht, the Chiefs will be looking to put the gloss on what has been an impressive European campaign to date. Standing in their way, however, are their Top 14 rivals, who despite not being able to advance to the latter stages, will themselves be looking to finish on a...
