A night out with the boss is something most of us dread but one ‘employee’ can’t wait for his and he’s inviting you to join him!

For Exeter Chiefs director of rugby, Rob Baxter, is staging a special evening with one of his longest serving staff members – Gareth Steenson.

It is all part of the fly half’s testimonial year which has already boasted a whole host of sold-out events.

And just a few tickets are left for Baxter A Tribute To Steeno at Sandy Park.

The evening will focus on the promotion season and early years in the Premiership and the subsequent...

Bath 11 Exeter Chiefs 28

The Brasso will be out again this week at Sandy Park as Exeter Chiefs added yet more silverware to the club’s trophy cabinet with victory over Bath in the Anglo-Welsh Cup.

Having won the competition in 2014 for the first time against Northampton Saints, it’s taken until now for the Chiefs to repeat the feat, even though they have been in all of the subsequent finals.

At Kingsholm, though, there was to be no denying Ricky Pellow’s side as they dominated from start to finish.Hooker Jack Innard helped himself to a first half double, Toby Salmon got another, while 13 points...

Ricky Pellow is confident his Exeter side can deliver the telling blows when the Chiefs come face-to-face with rivals Bath in tomorrow’s Anglo-Welsh Cup Final at Kingsholm (2:30pm). With the two set to meet a fortnight ago – only for the ‘Beast from the East’ to put pay to that – the Westcountry counterparts locked horns last Friday night in the Aviva Premiership with the Chiefs emerging triumphant thanks to a late Joe Simmonds penalty. Now, the pair are set for a third and final round of battle with the prize at stake being the first piece of major silverware on offer this season. “We’re...

Cuthbert is Baxter's new signing ahead of the 2018/19 season

Alex Cuthbert says he is “excited” at the challenge that lies ahead after he today sealed a move to reigning Aviva Premiership champions Exeter Chiefs.

The Wales and British & Irish Lions international has agreed a three-year deal with the Chiefs and will leave Cardiff Blues at the end of the season after seven years at the Arms Park.

The 27-year-old winger is Rob Baxter’s first new signing ahead of the 2018/19 season and is a prominent new addition to the Chiefs squad.

“I’m very excited about the move,” said Cuthbert. “I’ve played all of my rugby in Wales and I...

If today is ‘Super Saturday’ in the Aviva Premiership, then ‘Fantastic Friday’ offered the perfect build-up as Exeter Chiefs extended their lead at the top of the division to 11 points with victory over Bath.

Rob Baxter’s side only collected their first-ever Premiership win at the Recreation Ground last season, when late heroics from James Short saw them down their local rivals right at the death.

A year down the line and Devon’s finest again left it late to grab the spoils in this derby encounter, Joe Simmonds pocketing a penalty three minutes from time to ensure the...

With the new Formula One season set to race into gear this weekend, so Rob Baxter is looking for his own side to maintain pole position in the Aviva Premiership with just five rounds of the scheduled season remaining.

Tomorrow, the defending champions make their shortest trip of the season to local rivals Bath in a mouth-watering Round 18 fixture at the Recreation Ground (7:45pm).

Buoyed by recent wins over Northampton Saints and Saracens, the Chiefs are seven points clear of next-best Wasps at the summit and victory against their nearest and dearest will edge them ever...

Exeter Chiefs side to face Bath

Ricky Pellow insists excitement is building inside the Exeter Chiefs camp ahead of Sunday’s Anglo-Welsh Cup final against Bath at Kingsholm (3pm).

Victory over an in-form Newcastle Falcons outfit last Sunday saw the Devonians march into a fourth successive final appearance in the competition – and Pellow is keen for his side to now finish the job against their nearest and dearest.

Triumphant on home soil in 2014 against Northampton Saints, the Chiefs have subsequently come unstuck against Saracens and Leicester Tigers in the past two finals.

It’s a statistic Pellow...

Dave Dennis says he and his Exeter Chiefs team-mates will need to be at their best if they are to secure Anglo-Welsh Cup glory against Bath at Kingsholm this Sunday (3pm). The Australian marked his return to competitive action for the first time in five months last weekend as he helped the Chiefs overcome Newcastle Falcons 20-17 in a hard-fought encounter at Sandy Park. Down 17-7 at the break, young fly-half Joe Simmonds spearheaded the Exeter revival, producing a man-of-the-match display that ensured the Chiefs booked a fourth successive final appearance in the competition. It was a...
