Local people from across South Devon are being invited to come along to two information events being held by the trustees of Pavilions Teignmouth, the new arts and community centre.

On Sunday 13 September from 3-5pm at the Teign Heritage Centre there will be a chance to hear all the latest about progress with the centre currently under construction. A short presentation by the trustees at 3.10pm will be followed by the opportunity to ask questions.

Cash boost for young entrepreneurs

Devon County Council has awarded £113,000 worth of funding to Schools across Devon through its Enterprise in Schools Grant programme to help encourage entrepreneurship.

The programme is designed to help Devon’s schools create or expand educational opportunities within the areas of enterprise and innovation for both pupils and staff, and is informed by the ‘Enterprise for All’ report.

It will enable schools to provide a better balance between education and skills for employment and aims to equip young people with the motivation and confidence to work for themselves.

Youth charity The Prince’s Trust is urging more unemployed young people in the South West to embrace their inner entrepreneur and explore the option of self-employment thanks to financial backing from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Schools have the chance to receive a share of Devon County Council’s latest round of Enterprise in Schools Grant funding.

State funded primary schools and special schools in the Devon County Council area are being invited to apply for the funding which aims to support new education projects that encourage enterprise and innovation for pupils and staff. Projects should also establish connections with the local business community.
