The Dissenters Graveyard will be open to visitors between 11am and 4pm on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th June.

Visitors can:

Take the opportunity to walk through the nearly restored graveyard and browse through the range of information on the histories of the Graveyard, of Dissent, of the monuments and the people associated with site.

Hear about previous excavations including an investigation of an intact underground vault with visible burials.

Hear about the histories and sometimes the transatlantic connections of families represented in the Graveyard....

Exeter Dissenters Graveyard open day

The Dissenters Graveyard will be open to visitors between 11am and 4pm on Saturday 8th July.

Visitors can view the near-completely restored Graveyard, now dignified with gates and railings; inspect transcribed copies of many of the grave inscriptions and will be able to read short biographies of some of those buried there.

The Dissenters Graveyard in Exeter will open to visitors between 11am and 4pm on Saturday 25th June.

Visitors will be abel to:

- see the work done and being done to repair broken monuments: restored chest tombs; broken headstones repaired and set upright; and gravestones being put together piece by piece.

- view an exploratory excavation which could reveal a previously unknown underground vault.

- hear about previous excavations including an investigation of an intact underground vault with visible burials.

The Dissenters Graveyard in Exeter will be open to visitors next weekend

Between 11am and 4pm on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September vistiors will be abel to see work in progress to reverse the ravages of time and vandalism and what more needs to be done, view a collapsed underground vault and the entrance to an intact underground vault, inspect transcribed copies of many of the grave inscriptions and read short biographies of some of those buried there.

£7,900 grant for Exeter Dissenters Graveyard

Volunteers at the Exeter Dissenters Graveyard have received £7,900 from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) today, to begin drawing up plans to restore the historical site. The funding granted to the Exeter Dissenters Graveyard Trust will allow volunteers to begin a project to record, investigate and clean the site to preserve it for the future. The project will also eventually see plans drawn up for an overall restoration of the site following the initial work by the trust.
