Willow Sunflowers Hearts & Dragonflies

Make willow crafts with Windrush Willow Aimed at beginners, Richard an expert from Windrush Willow will guide you through making a wide range of items.

Try making hearts, bird feeders, sunflowers, dragonflies, snails and random weave balls out of willow!

Please bring an apron, notepad and packed lunch.

Cost includes all willow materials, expert tuition and hot drinks throughout the day.

You will go home with at least 3 items.

The class takes place in the peaceful Reed Base classroom in the heart of the Seaton Wetlands Nature Reserve.

Outdoor Meditation

Learn to meditate outdoors Join local instructor, Katherine Bolton in the peaceful wildlife garden at Seaton Wetlands for an evening of mindfulness and meditation.

Learn basic meditation skills and take home some quick-fix tips for handling stressful or busy times.

If poor weather the class will take place in the Reed Base Classroom.

Please bring a mat/ towel to sit on and wear comfortable loose fitting clothes.

Exeter Deaf Academy is delighted to partner with local Devon based Sportiva Events, to support the new Adult and Junior Triathlon events coming to Exmouth on Sunday 20 May.


The event is open to all from 8 years upwards, starting from Exmouth Rugby Club. The adult races include a sprint tri and beginners’ event with a variety of traffic free distances available for junior entrants. The focus is on having a go and having some fun - all you need is a swimming costume, a road worthy bike, a helmet and pair of trainers to take part. Wartime hospital past of Exeter landmark building commemorated

The First World War hospital past of one of Exeter’s landmark buildings and the contribution of doctors and nurses who worked there will be commemorated.

Reed Hall, then called Streatham Hall, housed injured soldiers between 1917 and 1919. It was one of the city’s seven temporary wartime treatment centres for troops.

Experts have uncovered incredible first-hand accounts from those accommodated in the hospitals, as well as medical staff who worked there. Now a heritage plaque will be installed on Reed Hall to mark this history.

YMCA Exeter collaborate with the University of Exeter to record music album

Residents and volunteers at YMCA Exeter are delighted to announce that a recording of their EP album “Blessing” is now available online to download from Spotify, Amazon, Deezer, Google Play and iTunes.

The EP album is the result of a joint project called ‘Making Invisible People Visible’, between YMCA Exeter and Professor Paul Cloke at The University of Exeter. The album took YMCA Exeter residents’ on an emotional journey through song-writing, creativity and public performance, giving them the opportunity to make their voices heard.

Ethan Ampadu transfer fee to be decided at tribunal

The tribunal, to determine the fee Exeter City will receive from Chelsea for Ethan Ampadu, will take place on Wednesday, April 18. The tribunal will be held in London and will be attended by City chairman Julian Tagg, manager Paul Tisdale, director of football Steve Perryman and finance director Keith Mason along with the club’s legal team. Candidates from the Labour, Conservative, Green and Liberal Democrat parties will put their case and respond to questions from the audience at a Hustings for the City Council Elections in May.

The Hustings starts at 7pm on Thursday April 19th at Exeter Community Centre, St Davids' Hill and is organised by Transition Exeter.
