£75,000 grants available to support employment and skills projects

Charities and community groups in the South and South West of England are invited to apply for a share of £75,000 funding for employment and skills projects.

Sovereign Housing Association, working with not-for-profit digital fundraising platform The Good Exchange, has grants available for community projects that focus on supporting people to upskill, access training, find work or better work, or self-employment opportunities.

Projects need to be based within three miles of a Sovereign home and could be anything from community learning programmes and job clubs to homework...

With the high rate of positive coronavirus cases across Devon right now, there are growing numbers of people required to self-isolate.

For many fortunate enough to experience only minor symptoms and with people to help them, ten days self-isolating is OK. It's work round-able.

But for others, self-isolating can be very difficult, especially if they live alone, they’re unwell, or have other responsibilities outside the house.

People in Devon have been thanked for taking up their invitation to have a booster Covid-19 dose.

Walk-in clinics have been very busy and extra appointments are being offered, where possible, to meet demand.

During peak demand, people who have booked appointments may be given priority and walk in clinics may be paused temporarily to maintain safe numbers and social distancing.

People are being asked to book, if possible, and come prepared for a wait.
