Eighty-nine per cent of female rugby players who took part in a new study experience pain or discomfort from the boots they’re wearing.

With the Women’s Rugby World Cup currently taking place in England – including games at Sandy Park in Exeter - new research from the University of Exeter, in partnership with IDA Sports and backed by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), found many female athletes still face inequality in footwear, which can lead to injuries.

Aldi brings more inputs lockers to Devon

Aldi is introducing InPost Lockers to even more stores in Devon, allowing shoppers to easily collect and return online orders from their local store.

Ten stores in Devon now offer the service as part of the supermarket’s ongoing partnership with parcel locker provider, InPost.

Some of the most recent stores to have the lockers installed in Devon include Bideford and Torquay.

The supermarket is now aiming to have at least 600 lockers installed by the end of the year.

University of Exeter continues green transition

Thousands of solar panels are being installed as the University of Exeter continues its shift to renewable energy.

Once completed, the new panels – including 1,800 on land near Duryard Halls of Residence – should increase total solar generation on the University’s Exeter campuses to 4.1 megawatt-hours (MWh) per year.

This electricity – equivalent to the power used by 1,500 households – would provide about 15% of the University’s annual requirements, saving 840 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year.
