Lapford gardens open for Air Ambulances

Lapford & District Horticultural Society open their gardens on the 28th and 29th of June in aid of Devon Air Ambulance Trust. Twelve unique parish gardens can be viewed including the school and allotments. Nine gardens are located in the village, with three about a mile away.

The floral selections range from petite patio-type gardens, to large displays, all with distinguishing qualities from variable soil to an assortment of flowerage. A very fishy donation to Devon Air Ambulance Trust

Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT) regularly receives slightly unusual donations from the community but this week sees one of the most unusual. Heléna Holt explained “We received a call from Mat Mander, Deputy Chief Officer of the Devon & Severn Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority (D&SIFCA) recently, who advised they were making a donation of £792.38 to the Charity.” She added “This fantastic donation came from the sale of the mullet seized from an illegal net, found at the mouth of the River Erme in South Devon. Grandson fuels support for Air Ambulances

Gillian and Mike Sexton from Tipton St John, near Sidmouth are Devon Air Ambulance Trust volunteers. They are also organising an event at the Exeter Golf & Country Club on Saturday 7 June in order to raise additional funds, as their way to say a very personal thank you.

Devon's Air Ambulances celebrate their independence

Devon’s Air Ambulances recently celebrated becoming truly independent and self-sufficient.

The Charity, through its operating arm Devon Air Ambulance Trading Company Limited, has been awarded their own Air Operators Certificate (AOC) from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), something the Charity have previously relied on other agencies to hold and operate on their behalf.

Jack and Sarah's Easter Adventure

Jack is an experienced paddler, having have taken part in the Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Race nine times.
