A recent study conducted by luxury travel company, eShores, shows that a third of UK tourists have had their belongings stolen while on holiday.

The study asked 1250 holidaymakers information about which destination they have had belongings stolen, what items they’ve had stolen, and the value of their loss. This gave shocking insights into the scale of theft while on holiday, with 58% of the thefts occurring to people while holidaying in Europe.

Conman uses 'fake life' to steal hundreds from Devon women

A conman who duped Exeter and Devon women for money by infiltrating their lives, has pleaded guilty to seven charges of fraud and theft between July and December last year.

Timothy Giles, 46, an unemployed former toilet cleaner, concocted a kaleidoscope of lies, claiming to be an airline pilot, a fire fighter, and a policeman to lure women into trusting him.

The charges he faced included ‘dishonestly making a false representation, namely pretending to be a qualified airline pilot, intending to make a money gain.’

Witnesses sought for road traffic collision near Stover

Officers from Newton Abbot are seeking witnesses following a serious injury road traffic collision near Stover.

Police received the call shortly before 5.25 pm on Saturday 17th November 2012 reporting that a red Mazda 626 had been in collision with a pedestrian on the A382 between Churchills Roundabout and the Stover Vauxhall dealer at a private house called Whitehall Lodge.
