Devon Wildlife Trust will be getting into the festive spirit with their annual celebration held at the beautiful Cricklepit Mill located at Exeter's Quayside.

Children's activities include willow weaving and arts and crafts. Families can also get stuck in making bird feeders to give the garden birds a festive treat.

Seasonal nature tales can be heard in the Story Room, while Father Christmas returns to his grotto.

Home-made mince pies and refreshments will be available and DWT Christmas cards will also be on sale.

One of the South West’s leading charities has been awarded a top environmental award.

Devon Wildlife Trust, whose main headquarters is in Exeter and bases at Wembury (near Plymouth) and Cookworthy (near Great Torrington), demonstrated its commitment to environmental management recently by becoming the first county wildlife trust to gain the prestigious ISO - international standard accreditation.

Many businesses are committed to reducing their environmental impacts, but few have taken the time and made the investment to gain the coveted ISO14001 award.

Devon Wildlife Trust is running its first weekend Milling Morning of the year at its Cricklepit Mill home on Exeter’s quayside. The aim of the event is to give people an exclusive look at a grist mill in action right in the heart of the city.

Milling at Cricklepit

Watch local history come alive at DWT's headquarters. Volunteer millers will be on hand to show you the traditional way of grinding grain for flour using historic watermill.

If you feel inspired to get baking, the stone-ground wholemeal flour is available to buy.

Charity's festive day of family activities

Christmas is just around the corner but as the shops start to get busier, Devon Wildlife Trust is offering a day away from the crowds.

The annual Christmas celebration at the historic Cricklepit Mill may only be a few minute’s walk from the High Street, but to the tired Christmas shopper it will feel like a world away.

Christmas at Cricklepit is being held on Saturday 7 December from 10.30am to 3.30pm and is a day of free family activities.
