The grand opening ceremony of the Crediton Christmas Tree Festival, where the tree lights will be turned on. See 75 illuminated christmas trees decorated by local schools, clubs, charities, groups and local businesses. FREE Admission, FREE Parking. The Festival will then continue Thur 5th & Fri 6th Dec 11am to 6pm, Sat 7th Dec 10.30am to 7pm followed by a Concert by the North Creedy Choral Society, & Sun 8th Dec 11am to 5pm with a Concert 'Swing into Christmas' bringing down the curtain on this years Festival. Crediton, the birth place of St Boniface, who according to legend invented the Christmas Tree, stages its ninth Christmas Tree Festival at Crediton Parish Church in early December.
Decorated and illuminated Christmas Trees, from six to twenty feet in height, are all decked out in many imaginatives ways by local charities, children's groups and organisations will fill the church providing a spectacular display especialy as the natural light fades during the afternoons.
