There was a sight to see around Exeter on Sunday for those doing some Christmas shopping as over a hundred motorbikers dressed as Santas, elves, reindeer and even a festive banana went through the city in convoy, taking part in a festive ride with a difference. A Critically Endangered monkey with a rare medical condition has been treated by a team of zoo experts and South West veterinary specialists.

Staff at Go Ape throughout the UK, including Haldon Forest near Exeter, went bananas to support Teenage Cancer Trust, raising a grand total of £60,000 for the charity.
Go Ape is the UK’s leading forest adventure and staff from the 28 sites across the country devised the ‘Big Banana Relay’ to raise much-needed funds for the charity. National Adoption week saw local Exeter based WSP challenge fellow firm Parsons Brinckerhoff to the ultimate static cycle race to raise awareness and much needed funds to support families who have adopted in Exeter.
Over the course of a day early this month, members of both WSP Exeter, and Parsons Brinckerhoff took part in a static bike race in the centre of Princesshay shopping centre to see which firm could cycle the furthest.

A local conservation charity has launched a public search - for tiny orange ping-pong bats.
Naturalists in South Devon have found an unusual fungus – known as orange ping-pong bats – that has only ever been identified in the UK once before. And they are asking the public to help track its progress across the country.
The fungus – found in Africa - was discovered at Primley Park, in Paignton, a nature reserve run by the Whitley Wildlife Conservation Trust. Reserves Warden Dave Ellacott came across it when he was making repairs to fencing near the entrance:
