Reception children at Exeter Cathedral School have rounded off their recent scheme of learning by holding their very own Dinosaur Day.

The pupils have been studying dinosaurs since returning to school in January, and this special celebration day saw them come to school dressed as their favourite prehistoric creature and perform a musical story of the rise and fall of the dinosaurs to an appreciative audience of parents and guests.

National top spot for Exeter Cathedral School Pupil

A pupil at Exeter Cathedral School has been awarded a place in the prestigious National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain.

Rufus Hetherington, who is in Year 7 at ECS and a Chorister at Exeter Cathedral, has earned himself a spot in the French Horn section of the elite GB orchestra.

Rufus, who has been a pupil at the School since he was 8 and who studies French Horn at the School, said he was ‘really pleased’ to have made the grade and that he was looking forward to the challenge of working alongside some ‘amazing players’.

Exeter Cathedral School pupils have been joined by a celebrated History Professor to create their very own podcast. The Year 2 pupils were very excited to welcome Professor James Daybell (co-creator of ‘Histories of the Unexpected’ with the BBC’s Sam Willis), for the making of their first podcast in Exeter Cathedral's Chapter House and the opening of their exhibition, ‘A Walk Through Time.’
