Chiefs agree kit deal

Exeter Chiefs and Samurai Sportswear are predicting a bright future ahead after today agreeing a new long-term contract.

The five-year deal will see the Norfolk-based sportswear manufacturer continue to supply the Aviva Premiership club with its innovative range of playing kit and off-field leisurewear, as well as providing an extensive range of kit and clothing for the club’s support base.

The partnership, which was first signed in 2010 before the Chiefs were promoted into English rugby’s top flight, is the joint longest of its type in the Premiership, with both parties...

Low signs new deal with Chiefs

Exeter Chiefs prop Moray Low has today committed his long-term future to the Aviva Premiership club by agreeing a new two-year deal.

Signed in the summer of 2014 from Glasgow Warriors, the Scottish international has to date amassed 43 appearances in all competitions, scoring four tries in the process.

Low’s decision to stay at Sandy Park is yet another welcome boost for head coach Rob Baxter, who has tied down the majority of his current first team squad to extended deals.

Baxter said: “I think Moray has done well for us in his first two seasons here and is looking...

Discipline cost us says Baxter

Frustrated Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter bemoaned a lack of discipline from his players as the wait to book a first-ever appearance in the Aviva Premiership play-offs continues.

een for a response after their European Champions Cup exit to Wasps the week previous, the Devonians again suffered away-day misery, slipping to a 16-9 loss at Gloucester.

After a scoreless opening half, Chiefs skipper Gareth Steenson fired them in front with the first of three successful penalties, but it was the Cherry & Whites who prevailed, claiming a converted score from debutant Olly...

Chiefs undone by Gloucester

Exeter’s wait to book a first-ever appearance in the Aviva Premiership play-offs will have to wait a little bit longer as they were undone by a courageous Gloucester outfit at Kingsholm.

Scoreless at the break following a bone-crunching battle of attrition, it was the home side who prevailed during the second period, claiming a converted score from Olly Thorley, as well as three penalties from Greg Laidlaw.

The Chiefs countered with three penalties from fly-half Gareth Steenson, but it was never enough on a damp and dismal night for Devon’s finest. With Rob Baxter’s side...

Thomas Waldrom says he and his Exeter Chiefs team-mates won’t allow Saturday’s Aviva Premiership loss at Saracens to define their season.

The Devon club surrendered top spot in the table after being undone 36-18 by the defending champions at Allianz Park.

Mark McCall’s side produced an impressive display - particularly against the elements in the first half - to leapfrog their rivals and assume pole position with just four rounds of the scheduled season remaining.

For the first time sink Bath in December 2014, the Chiefs failed to pick up any reward from their...

Hunter pleased with Chiefs' composure

Exeter Chiefs forwards coach Rob Hunter praised his side’s composure as they finally swot aside the attentions of visiting Newcastle Falcons in the Aviva Premiership.

For at least an hour at Sandy Park, the lowly visitors were happy to match the Chiefs blow for blow as they cancelled out tries from Thomas Waldrom and Phil Dollman with converted scores of their own through Sonatane Takulua and Nili Latu.

However, the Chiefs refused to panic and in a powerful conclusion to the match, they not only wrapped up victory, but they also ensured themselves of he all-important bonus...

Chiefs grind out a victory

This wasn’t the vintage, high-octane rugby we’ve seen at other times this season from Exeter Chiefs, but nevertheless the five precious points Rob Baxter’s side picked up were celebrated just as much, if not better.

Devon’s finest ground out their 11th league win of the season against a gutsy Newcastle Falcons outfit who, for at least an hour at Sandy Park, matched their higher-placed rivals toe-to-toe.

In the end, the Chiefs had just too much in their attacking arsenal for Dean Richards’ side and netted another maximum haul courtesy of Elvis Taione’s late score.

Rob Baxter welcomes Henry Slade back into the Exeter Chiefs mix for the first time since early December when he starts against Newcastle Falcons in the Aviva Premiership tomorrow (3pm). The England international has not figured for the Devon club since breaking his leg and damaging ankle ligaments in Exeter’s impressive away win at Wasps. However, the 22-year-old playmaker has worked tirelessly to return to full fitness and Baxter has wasted little time in recalling the Plymouth-born back to his starting line-up. Slade is one of seven changes the Chiefs have made to their side that went...

Geoff Parling knows what it takes to be a winner, particularly in the Aviva Premiership, and today he will be helping lead the charge as Exeter Chiefs aim to maintain their lofty status against Newcastle Falcons at Sandy Park (3pm).

Heading into Round 16 of the competition, the Devon club are sitting pretty in second place, just three behind leaders Saracens and five ahead of Leicester Tigers in third.

However, the 32-year-old forward knows this is the ‘business end’ of the season and results are even more important as club jockey for key positions at the end of the season...

Sturgess bids farewell to Chiefs

Exeter prop Brett Sturgess has admitted it will be with a heavy heart that his bids farewell to the Chiefs at the end of the season.
