Dean Mumm to leave Chiefs

Exeter Chiefs have announced that skipper Dean Mumm is to return home to Australia at the end of the current season.

The 31-year-old – who is to rejoin former club the NSW Waratahs on a one-year deal – is hoping his return to Sydney will help him earn a recall to the Wallabies squad ahead of this year’s Rugby World Cup in England.

Signed by head coach Rob Baxter in 2012, the Auckland-born forward has been an inspired capture ever since he arrived at Sandy Park and his departure will certainly be belt, both on and off the field, here in Devon.

England selectors include three uncapped players in Ashes squad

England selectors have named a 17-man squad for the Ashes Test series in Australia including three players uncapped at Test level – Yorkshire batsman Gary Ballance, Warwickshire pace bowler Boyd Rankin and Durham all rounder Ben Stokes.

Coral reefs' collapse isn't inevitable, University of Exeter researchers say

Exeter Chiefs flanker Tom Johnson is due to pick up his fifth England cap after being picked for the team that will take on Australia tomorrow.

The in-form player claimed his first ecer try in the international match against Fiji last weekend.
