Apple Mac Museum opens at Exeter College

Exeter School of Art student Sophie Bruce and her team have created what is believed to be the only exhibition celebrating the history of the Apple Mac in the UK.

The Mac Museum exhibit opened last week at the college’s new Institute of Technology Digital and Data Centre (IoT) and will be on display throughout the summer.

Six tonnes of apples harvested in time for Killerton’s Apple Festival

Over 700 people have helped continue the tradition of hand-picking apples from the orchard at the National Trust’s Killerton estate, in time to be pressed at Killerton’s Apple Festival on 13 and 14 October. Thanks to hundreds of helping hands they were able to pick approximately 6 tonnes of apples, ready for the start of the cider and apple making season. BUSINESSES with cross-border activities are being urged to take tax advice after a major European ruling which could land computer giant Apple with a £11 billion tax bill.

Online trolls are tricking people into completely breaking their iPhones.

Numerous tricks are circulating online that encourage people to switch their phone back to 1 January, 1970, and then restart it. But doing so confuses the phone and forces it to break, and it is only possible to bring it back by going to an Apple Store.

On its website, Apple says: "Manually changing the date to May 1970 or earlier can prevent your iOS device from turning on after a restart.

Summer rain adds sparkle to Killerton cider

August was a rainy month for tourists and locals. There was one upside to the downpours however; the wet weather has made for a bumper crop of apples in the National Trust orchards at Killerton and the trees are heavy with fruit ready to be made into cider.

2014 was a memorable summer, but an apple crop to forget, producing only 3,000 litres of cider. But this year the trees are so full that the National Trust hopes to double its production.

At Killerton, the National Trust estate near Exeter, the apple harvest is fast approaching. This year looks to be a bumper crop and the trees are heavy with fruit.
