Exeter Festival of South West Food & Drink has announced new exhibitors for the 2017 festival as part of its Fresh at the Festival initiative. The scheme supports local independent start-ups and this year eight exciting new Fresh at the Festival exhibitors will feature alongside many festival favourites.

More than half a million people are expected to watch and count their garden birds for this year’s Big Garden Birdwatch, organised by the RSPB.

The world’s largest garden wildlife survey (now in its 38th year!) takes place on the 28th, 29th and 30th January 2017. In response to popular demand, this will be the first time ever that the Birdwatch will take place over three days. This time round, Monday is included, to give workers the opportunity to take a screen break and participate from their office gardens.

UK house prices to increase by 3% in 2017

House prices in the UK will see an average increase of 3% over the course of next year as the number of transactions stabilises, according to the RICS housing forecast for 2017.

Following on from the 2016 forecast, the supply pipeline or lack of it is at the forefront of the analysis and dominates the residential market. While there is an improvement, the legacy of building on an insufficient scale has left the average inventory on estate agents books close to a historic low*.

Exciting plans for Exeter Pride 2017

Exciting plans are being made for Exeter Pride on Saturday 13 May 2017.

It will be the biggest free celebration of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT+) communities in the county of Devon - and is one of the first in the UK summer calendar of similar such events.

The ninth annual event will include the always popular rainbow flag parade from the St Sidwell Centre down Exeter High Street to Northernhay Gardens, Exeter Phoenix, Exeter Library and Rougemont Gardens, where a packed programme of activities will await.

Chagstok Festival organisers have confirmed that Devon’s much-loved, family friendly, not-for-profit event will return in 2017 after its triumphant, Sold Out 10th Birthday this July!

Taking place on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd July, this fabulous event will once again showcase the very finest music, food and entertainment from the Westcountry and beyond.
