Mole Avon & Crediton Milling raise money for Hospiscare

To help celebrate Mole Avon Trading Limited’s 40th anniversary and their Ruby Appeal for Hospiscare, the company teamed up with Crediton Milling and together have raised £1,241 for the local charity.

During a four week period at Mole Avon’s retail branches in Axminster, Crediton and Okehampton for every bag of Layers Mash or Layers Pellets sold 50p would be donated to Hospiscare.

Crediton Milling, based at Fordton, Crediton is one of the few remaining family owned and run independent feed mills in the Westcountry and the have been supplying animal compound feed to Mole Avon...

Transition: Outdoor Exhibition of Sculpture

“Transition” is the inspiration behind an exhibition of Contemporary Sculpture in the grounds of Buckfast Abbey.

Eight Devon artists have been chosen and their imagination and ideas have been expressed in wood, resin, stainless steel and stone. Although smaller in number this year the works sit and breathe easily in open space and in the smaller gardens in the Abbey grounds.

Cadhay Rose Festival and Garden Fair

Hospiscare Open Gardens - St Leonards

The garden at 50 St Leonards Road is a long and narrow townhouse garden, shaded and busy, with a variety of fruit trees and bushes, flowering shrubs, wild flowers, and a small area of raised beds for vegetables. Open 2pm-5pm, admission by donation. Unfortunately there is no wheelchair access and no dogs allowed.

Directions to 50 St Leonards Road: St Leonards road runs from Magdalen road to Topsham road. Number 50 is on the right hand side going towards Topsham road, near the crossroads with Wonford road. This is close to the H bus route.

Hospiscare Open gardens - Sidmouth

This secluded 0.5 acre garden is open to visit for the whole weekend.

Trees including eucryphia listed in Sidmouth Aboretum. Shrubs, herbaceous plants, alpines, roses and vegetables in raised beds. Also interesting sculptures and wood carvings.

Open 2pm-5pm, admission £2 and refreshments available. Wheelchair access limited. Dogs to be kept on leads.

Crediton Food & Drink Festival

Organised by community groups and established in 2009, Crediton's 5th Food and Drink Festival will again have stalls and cookery demonstrations on Saturday afternoon in the Town Square, as well as food and music on the Saturday night.

On Sunday come and enjoy the The Big Sunday Lunch, with music and food to buy, and tables and chairs to sit at to eat and enjoy the company. Not forgetting our short story competition plus of course the Great Crediton Bake-off!!
