Devon and Cornwall’s Police and Crime Commissioner Tony Hogg is taking a national lead in the battle to cut alcohol related crime and harm, which is estimated to cost the country £11 billion annually. Mr Hogg will chair a national PCC group which has a clear vision to reduce alcohol misuse and the associated huge cost for policing and health. It will focus on changing attitudes, deterring offenders and tackling irresponsible supply. Eight other Commissioners have so far joined Mr Hogg in the cross party group, which has four main aims:

Police in East Devon have issued a photograph of a man who is wanted for recall to prison.
Officers are actively looking for Simon Berkowitz, a 68-year-old man who is wanted for recall to prison after breaching his prison licence conditions.
Berkowitz (pictured) is described as white, 6ft 1in, of slim build and receding, greying hair.
Berkowitz, who was convicted of burglary, is believed to be in East Devon area, possibly sleeping rough. He is known to have frequented the Sidmouth, Budleigh and Exmouth areas in the past. He is also known to use local buses...

South West-based luxury lodge retreat specialist Charteroak Estates has today announced that Blue Chip Holidays, the South West’s largest supplier of four- and five-star self catering properties, has been appointed as sole agent for its three lodge developments in the region from January 2015.
Under the agreement Blue Chip Holidays will be responsible for marketing and promoting Stonerush lakes in Cornwall, Indio Lakes in Devon, and Saxon Maybank in Dorset, where guests can choose to stay in a selection of one, two, and three-bedroom lodges.
