Jimmy Carr brings his new show ‘Funny Business’ to the Riverside Leisure Centre on Saturday 22 August.

His long tours are legendary and each new tour is greeted with critical acclaim as he appears live throughout the UK. Exeter's Northcott Theatre has been included in a Regional Touring Network that has received a £827,000 grant from Arts Council England.

Exeter's Royal Albert Memorial Museum has been shortlisted for the Telegraph Family Friendly Museum Award

RAMM is one of only six museums to be shortlisted for this year's award – the biggest museum award in Britain.

The competition has been tough with a record-breaking 800 nominations this year. The six finalists have been chosen by a panel of experts. Visitors, staff, volunteers and city councillors all contributed to RAMM’s nomination. Now it’s up to a ‘mystery shopper’ family to road-test RAMM and judge whether it should be the overall winner.

New Exeter pub begins hiring staff

Work continues to progress well on a brand new pub and restaurant opening soon in Exeter.

The Pinhoe Hoard, which is being built by Marston’s Inns and Taverns, will cater for 185 diners and will offer fresh Rotisserie chicken every day, as well as a selection of other home cooked meals, and an extensive range of drinks.

Appeal after cash stolen from Exeter Aldi

Police are appealing for the public’s help in identifying two men who stole cash from within the Aldi store on Alphington Road, Exeter.

The two men are believed to have taken £290 out of an unmanned cash register between 3pm and 4pm on Monday 13 July.

One man is described as white, between 5ft 8 and 5ft 11 tall, aged mid thirties and was wearing a fishing style hat, a black t-shirt, blue jeans and white trainers.

The new-look Devon Youth Games has been declared a resounding success with hundreds of young people taking part in a range of sports on one day.

Free flood warnings for EE customers

EE customers registered in flood risk areas in Devon and Cornwall will receive messages from the Environment Agency’s Floodline Warnings Direct service, giving people valuable time to prepare.

The scheme is the first of its kind in England and follows a successful pilot in Staffordshire in March this year.
