Killing Joke to visit Exeter HMV

Legendary London-based rock band Killing Joke will visit Exeter’s HMV on Tuesday 27 October to celebrate the release of their latest album, ‘Pylon’.

The band will be visiting at 5pm to meet fans and sign copies of the new LP – ‘Plyon’, which isn't designed to accompany a quiet night at home in front of the fire. Pylon is very much music as ritual - raw, uncompromising and precisely-targeted lyrically, for all rock and metal fans.

Prince Harry was given a local tipple when he went to a World Cup match in Exeter, Devon. The prince was the VIP guest at the Namibia v Georgia match at Exeter Chief’s Sandy Park ground. Body pulled from water at Exmouth Marina

The body of a teenager was pulled from the water at Marina in Exmouth at the weekend.

Police were called out to the Marina just after 1pm on Saturday (17 October), after a body was discovered in the water.

The body, believed to be a local 19-year-old, was recovered by the RNLI.

Police say they're not treating his death as suspicious.

The Charity Fashion Show on 8 October at The Maynard School been hailed a sensational success, raising nearly £1000 for the education charity, Plan UK.

LED Leisure Management is delighted to be opening the doors to all the new facilities at Exmouth Leisure Centre this half-term. Monday 26th October marks the end to an extensive year-long refurbishment programme. Sea wall sponsored walk a great success

The Devon and Cornwall Rail Partnership organised a successful sponsored walk on Saturday 10th October to celebrate the reopening of the sea wall for walkers and raise around £1,000 for good causes in Teignmouth and Dawlish.

Teignmouth and Dawlish Ramblers led the 40 walkers who included local councillors, Dawlish and Teignmouth Walk this Way, the Friends of Dawlish and Teignmouth Stations, Dawlish Solidarity for Refugees and a representative of Network Rail’s ‘Orange Army’.

Excavations reveal Bronze Age mystery

Excavations being carried out at Tithebarn Green, Redhayes, near Exeter are revealing a complex ancient landscape with occupation dating from the Neolithic through to the Medieval period.

The Bronze Age Pin Brook enclosure, located at the northern end of the Tithebarn Green site has been particularly interesting.

The enclosure may have been built to adapt a Neolithic causewayed enclosure and there is evidence of ongoing use of the site in the late Roman and/or post Roman British or Anglo-Saxon periods. There is also evidence of the post-medieval enclosure of the landscape...
