Minette Batters, the Vice President of the National Farmers’ Union (NFU) is set to address attendees at an upcoming free event organised by local professional services firms.

PKF Francis Clark, Savills and Stephens Scown LLP are joining forces to host what is hoped to be a lively Q&A session which will cover some of the most pressing issues in farming today; from the prospect of Brexit and pressures facing the dairy sector to competitiveness in the industry and the power of the supermarkets.

Sidmouth beacon to be lit to mark Queen’s birthday

East Devon District Council Chairman Cllr Stuart Hughes will be lighting a beacon on Sidmouth seafront on Thursday (April 21) to mark Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th birthday.

The beacon will be among a chain of more than 1,000 beacons to be lit across the country that evening to mark Her Majesty’s milestone anniversary. The Queen will light the first one in Windsor.

Exeter School's F1 in Schools team, Burning Rubber, has won a place in the National Final of the STEM competition which takes place on Wednesday 20 April.

The team of six Year 10 pupils took four prizes at the F1 in Schools South West Regional Final held at Exeter University on Tuesday 1 March.

Exeter artist wins Searle Award for Creativity

Anna Kressler, a second year BA (Hons) Photography student from Germany, has landed the Eaton Portrait Prize for “Sterrin”, her photograph of a young girl living in a refugee camp in the Dunkirk suburb of Grande-Synthe.
