Christmas at the Castle is BACK, with the special gift of a sign-language grotto

Powderham Castle, a historic gem nestled in the heart of South Devon, is set to transport visitors to a winter wonderland with the return of its highly-anticipated Christmas at the Castle event, which this year sees the introduction of a BSL Christmas grotto.

As part of this magical celebration, Powderham Castle invites visitors to experience the historic grounds in a whole new light.

Starting from December 1st until December 31st, visitors can purchase tickets for both the castle and grounds. Tickets are priced at £14.95 per adult and £6.95 per child.

Learn Devon has been praised by Ofsted inspectors for helping all of its learners to “grow in confidence”. Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is partnering with St Margaret’s Hospice Care to offer a Christmas tree recycling service for households across Somerset.

Last Christmas, ‘treecyclers’ raised almost £8,000 for CHSW, which runs the Little Bridge House children’s hospice in North Devon, as well as Charlton Farm near Bristol, and Little Harbour in St Austell. This year, it is collecting real trees in even more locations in return for a donation.

The British Business Bank’s £200 million South West Investment Fund has announced its first major equity deal with a £500,000 equity investment in Exeter-based tech-led commercial waste and recycling business Binit.

An Exeter care home has opened an on-site charity shop for residents where they can buy their own clothes.
