Red Dwarf star comes to Exeter

Exeter Comedy Grove welcome Red Dwarf star Norman Lovett to The Barnfield Theatre on Wednesday 10th May.

Norman AKA Holly will be headlining a special one off show in Exeter with support comedians including regular MC Cerys Nelmes.

Born in Windsor, Berkshire, Norman was well into his thirties before he decided to become a stand-up comedian.

He played the original Comedy Store many times and even supported the Clash, one of the personal highlights of his career.

Television and radio followed a few years later, bringing with it the role for which he is best...

Now established nationally as the UK’s Number One Tribute to Phil Collins, ‘And Finally…’ are set to commemorate their 10 years of performing with their hotly anticipated ‘10th Anniversary Tour’ at the Community Arts Theatre, Tiverton on 6th May.

The Band were pleasantly surprised when Phil Collin’s PA wrote to the show’s producer Tim Harper with a very special message, “Phil has watched and kept your DVD and he said, “This is great stuff”. “He has kept the DVD, but signed the original insert for you guys”.

Exeter medicine students visit Cuba for insight into international health delivery

Medicine students at the University of Exeter Medical School have travelled to Cuba to get an insight into how the country delivers high quality healthcare on a tight budget.

The Year 3 students, based at the Medical School’s Exeter and Truro campuses, travelled to the Caribbean island to discover how the Communist country’s health outcomes are among the best in the world, despite operating on a much lower budget. The trip also involved students from the University of South Florida.

Green light to revitalise Exmouth seafront

East Devon District Council’s Development Management Committee has given the green light to move forward with proposals to revitalise Exmouth seafront.

The district council, who are the landowners at Queen’s Drive, already has outline planning permission to develop the area for leisure facilities. It’s latest application - called ‘Reserved Matters’ – concerned the scale, access, appearance and landscaping of the site which was approved by councillors by ten votes to four.

Charity darts event raises thousands for sight loss charity

On Sunday 19th March, the Barrett Family who live in St Thomas, Exeter held their annual charity darts event in aid of sight loss charity, the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB).

The event has gone from strength to strength over the past 7 years and is now attended by more 80 local people.
