Breathe Easy group donates Pulse Oximeters to RD&E’s Respiratory Department

The Exeter and East Devon Breathe Easy group has donated two brand new Pulse Oximeters to the Respiratory Outpatients Department at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital to help support patients who have lung conditions.

The new pieces of portable equipment will be used both at the RD&E and out in the community to monitor patient’s oxygen saturation levels.

The local support group, who meet regularly in Clyst St George, provide advice and support to patients who are living with respiratory problems and their families. With over 200 members, they meet once a month to for...

Devon County Council is due to host representatives from six European countries at the beginning of July, as part of a project which aims to reduce food waste, from producer to plate, as well as influence future policy.

For every 2 tonnes of food eaten in the UK, 1 tonne is wasted - 10 million tonnes in total every year. In Devon, food waste makes up to 24 per cent of a household dustbin, costing £3.3 million to dispose of and the average household wastes up to £700 throwing food away each year. The sky above Princesshay’s Bedford Square is set to be transformed for 8 weeks when a flock of swifts made from recycled plastic bottles take flight as part of a jaw-dropping sculpture commissioned by the centre to celebrate its tenth birthday. Princesshay has commissioned an exciting art installation sculpture by environmental artist, Naomi Hart, as part of its tenth birthday celebrations. Exeter Northcott Theatre are delighted that Arts Council England has recognised the invigorating work and vision of the theatre and has awarded £125,000 a year over the period of the National Portfolio Programme for 2018 - 2022.

Deborah Ogle is to retire from WBW Solicitors on 28th June, after almost 30 years in the legal industry.

Deborah joined Silverthorne Colthorpe in 1995, having qualified as a solicitor in 1987 after attending the University of Kent at Canterbury. She was made a partner in 1997 and joined WBW as a partner in 2008 when the two firms merged.

Devon’s buzzing multi-disciplinary arts organisation Exeter Phoenix is getting a face lift and exciting new contemporary art gallery facilities thanks to funding awarded from Arts Council England for a new capital project.
