Council takes action to increase the visibility of the dangers of problem gambling

A Spotlight Review into the issue of problem gambling has been commended and endorsed by Devon County Council’s Cabinet this month, who will be incorporating recommendations from the report over the coming months, starting this week, to mark the national Responsible Gambling Week.

The review was carried out by the Corporate Infrastructure and Regulatory Services Scrutiny Committee and the Health and Adult Care Scrutiny Committee and was led by Cllr Alistair Dewhirst, following concerns from councillors on problem gambling.

Blackcurrant jam and orange marmalade made at Otter Garden Centres have scooped silver in the Producers category at the recent Food Drink Devon Awards.

The preserves are made in the kitchens at the garden centre in Ottery St Mary by Liz Lee and her team using traditional methods with a high fruit ratio.
