CITY Community Trust’s Santa Run is back for 2018 and we’re excited to welcome as many runners as possible into our CITY centre to start the Christmas celebrations.

The event, supported by our charity partners Age UK Exeter, Children’s Hospice South West, Julian House and Force Cancer, will see hundreds of runners dressed in Santa suits running, jogging and walking through Exeter on Sunday, December 2. Feedback from visitors to Exmouth’s new temporary Queen’s Drive Space has been overwhelmingly positive according to a survey of users carried out in the summer.

People and families who visited the new Space, which featured a Jurassic-themed play park, a popular beach bar and food village and an events space used for live performances and big screen films, gave the site great reviews and was well received by locals and visitors alike.

Archaeologists unearth most south-westerly Roman town at Okehampton development

Local archaeologists working with Redrow Homes believe they have discovered the most south-westerly Roman town in Britain at the housebuilder’s Romansfield development in Okehampton, Devon.

Locally based independent commercial archaeological consultancy AC archaeology has found the foundation trenches and post-holes of some 25 timber-constructed buildings situated either side of a well-preserved Roman road extending eastwards from a military fort.

Coca-Cola truck returns to Exeter

Holidays are coming to Exeter once again this year, when the iconic Coca-Cola Truck arrives in Princesshay on Saturday 10th November at 12pm. Bedford Street will play host to the famous red lorry for the entire weekend for fans to get the ultimate seasonal selfie in front of the illuminated vehicle.

Exeter choir presents an evening to remember

Exeter Male Voice Choir will be presenting An Evening to Remember at St Peter's School in Quarry Lane on Saturday November 10 (7:30-9:15).

It is a joint concert which also features the young musicians of Lympstone Training Band, who will be playing traditional favourites.

The choir will perform popular modern songs and some James Bond theme tunes accompanied by guest soloist, soprano Penny Smith-Wiseman. The event will be raising funds for FORCE Cancer Charity, Haemochromatosis UK and, as it is on the eve of Armistice Day, the Royal British Legion.
