Suitable for those with no or little carving experience.
Starting with an axed-out blank you will use straight and curved knifes to carve your very own wooden spoon. With guidance from the Wild East Devon ranger, you will learn the correct and safe techniques involved in green wood carving and have time to work on your own spoon whilst practising your new skills. All tools and materials are provided, and tea, coffee, and hot chocolate will be available during breaks. Suitable for ages 14+ (all under 16s must be accompanied by a paying adult) 10am to 14:30 at Seaton Wetlands....

Taking a leisurely stroll around our Bird hides to see all our autumn migrant and winter resident birds such has Lapwing, Dunlin and Black-tailed Godwits. Bring your binoculars or borrow some of ours (limited numbers). Then the walk will finish off at the Discovery Hut where you can enjoy a complimentary non-alcoholic mulled punch and some mince pies! 10am - 12pm. Festive hats are not mandatory but will be very much welcomed! Please wear suitable clothing and footwear. No dogs allowed. £10 per person....

There will be bird spotting sheets as well as binoculars to borrow. See how many birds you can identify!
