Curtain falls on Ladies Night at Exeter Racecourse
The curtain came down on Ladies Night at Exeter Racecourse on Friday evening, with a strong crowd enjoying the final fixture of the 2025/26 season in style.
A lively atmosphere and plenty of laughter set the tone as guests gathered for a fun-filled event. Sam Binney, visiting from Southampton on a hen do, was announced as the winner.
“This is really unexpected, and I’m actually quite shocked, if I’m honest. I was really worried about today, but I think it’s worked out well. I’m really excited,” she said.
Second place went to Jodie Hart, from Whiddon Down, while Sarah Ness, from Taunton, took third.
Prizes included flowers, prosecco, a stay at the Thurlestone Hotel, a cream tea at Bovey Castle, a hat from Farmers Friend, and a variety of vouchers from headline sponsor Heavitree Brewery.
On the track, the six-race card delivered competitive action throughout, with Tiverton-based trainer and former Grand National winner Nigel Hawke scoring a double with Square Du Roule and Modern Style.
General Manager Jack Parkinson said: “A huge thank you to our main sponsor Heavitree Brewery, as well as our Ladies Day prize sponsors Thurlestone Hotel, Farmers Friend and Bovey Castle. It was a great conclusion to the season.”
