Exeter Science Park launches search for new CEO

Exeter Science Park has begun the search for a new chief executive officer to lead the organisation into the next phase of its growth as a hub for science, technology, and enterprise in the south west.

This follows the announcement that current CEO, Dr Sally Basker, will retire in June 2026 after nearly a decade of leadership. Under her guidance, Exeter Science Park has secured strong financial foundations, welcomed significant new investment and supported the growth of pioneering STEMM companies.

Dr Basker said: “It has been a privilege to lead Exeter Science Park through a period of exciting growth. We’ve built a thriving community where businesses can collaborate, innovate and scale. With strong foundations in place, the time is right to hand over to a new leader to take the Park into its next chapter.”

Dr Eulian Roberts, chair of Exeter Science Park, said: “The new CEO will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the Science Park, building on its successes to attract further investment, foster collaboration with regional and national partners and create an environment where science and technology businesses can thrive.

“This appointment underlines Exeter Science Park’s commitment to growth, innovation and continuity, ensuring it remains a driving force for science and technology in the South West and beyond.”

The Park, which is home to more than 45 businesses and organisations at the forefront of science, engineering, and innovation, is working with leading regional recruitment specialists Cathedral Appointments to identify and recruit the most suitable candidate for the role.

First interviews for the position are expected to take place at the beginning of December, final interview at the beginning of January, with the appointment confirmed at the end of January 2026. It is expected that the new CEO will take up the post at the beginning of May 2026.
