St Mark’s Church Launches ‘Give To Go Green’ Campaign
St Mark’s Church on Pinhoe Road, Exeter, is proud to announce its participation in the Church of England’s “Give To Go Green” initiative - a match-funding scheme designed to help churches reduce their carbon footprint and improve energy efficiency.
Until 21st July 2025, every donation made to St Mark’s will be matched pound-for-pound by the Church of England, up to a total of £6,714. This means your contribution will have double the impact in supporting vital sustainability upgrades.
Funds raised will go toward two key improvements:
Glass Partitioning in the Lady Chapel: Installing glass partitions will enclose the open sides of the Lady Chapel, enhancing energy efficiency by retaining heat. This upgrade will create a more comfortable and private environment for meetings and prayer, allowing the space to be used more effectively throughout the year.
Replacement of Church Hall Windows: Replacing the old wooden single-glazed windows in the church hall with modern UPVC double-glazed units will improve insulation, helping to retain heat and reduce heating needs. This willlower energy use and carbon emissions, supporting a more sustainable building.
You can support the campaign in several ways:
Online: Visit the dedicated Give To Go Green donations page to contribute during the fundraising period. www.stmarksexeter.uk/givetogogreen
Contactless: Use the card reader at the back of the church; all donations made via this method during the campaign will automatically go to the Give To Go Green fund.
Cash: Place your donation in the collection bowls at the back of the church.
Supporting the campaign, ‘My Favourite Hymn’ - a Songs of Praise Service is taking place on Sunday 22 June at 6pm. Go along and sing some of your favourite hymns and songs, followed by refreshments. Everyone is welcome to attend and support their journey toward a greener future.
