New trade waste scheme creates cleaner city
Exeter BID has launched a new trade waste scheme which aims to reduce costs on refuse, recycling, glass and food waste collections for levy payers.
The scheme is the latest in a series of initiatives introduced by Exeter BID to help the city centre to continue to thrive and be a welcoming place for businesses, visitors and residents.
Wayne Pearce, Chairman of the Exeter BID Board said: “We are proud to introduce our latest project, bringing more benefits to our levy payers.
"The trade waste scheme continues to evolve but initial stages have created savings across a range of services by close working with our partners Exeter City Council and Devon Contract Waste.”
Part of Exeter BID’s vision for a cleaner city for everyone to enjoy, the scheme is the result of a robust procurement process and consultation with eight waste collections providers.
The two organisations chosen will provide levy payers with multiple weekly collection times and offer services for various types of waste.
To enhance the service, Exeter BID has published a detailed table explaining the services available with unit costs to help levy payers effectively and efficiently select the best deals for their business.
