Come rain or shine, there is plenty of fun and adventure to keep the whole family entertained at The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth this February half term.

With free admission and free parking, The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth is a great value option this February half term. Open from 9.30am until 4pm every day (winter opening hours), enjoy the great outdoors and meet some of the 500 donkeys, mules and hinnies who are cared for at the Sidmouth site.

Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty along the stunning Jurassic Coast, explorers young and old can discover mile upon mile of scenic, tranquil walks, and burn off steam in the maze and farm-themed play area. Visitors can also enjoy donkey cuddles on Main Yard from 11am until 3pm, learn about the wild side of the Sanctuary in the Nature Centre and play ‘Betty the Bat’ games on the Bat Beacon touch screen.

Chris Phillips of The Donkey Sanctuary says: “This half term we have a fun holiday hunt for all the family to enjoy and free Meet the Groom sessions which run every morning and afternoon. On Thursday and Friday at 11am there will also be guided tours which commence from the Gift Shop.”

Make a day of it and enjoy freshly-prepared, locally-sourced meals in the Hayloft restaurant, including hearty breakfasts and delicious lunches. Devonshire cream teas, cakes, specials, kid’s portions, vegetarian and gluten-free options are also available. Dogs are welcome throughout the site and in the restaurant.

Half term activities will run from Saturday 11 to Sunday 19 February. Find out more about the Sanctuary’s events at www.thedonkeysanctuary.org.uk/events
