Exeter Police target anti-social drivers by popular demand

Following concerns raised by Exeter residents, Exeter police have carried out a proactive operation to tackle offenders on the areas’ roads.

Inspector Andrew Webber who leads the police team said, “Members of the local community have raised concerns about increasing anti-social drivers. We have responded by targeting those motorists who flout the law and we have we dealt with them accordingly.”

Since the start of the operation in December, a number of drivers have been arrested for drink drive offences, numerous have been breath tested and others received warnings for speeding or displaying defective parts on their vehicles. Two cars have been seized by the police team for not having valid insurance.

Inspector Webber added, “The message is clear. If motorists flout the law, there is a high likelihood of being caught. Anyone with information as to the identify of those who flouts motoring laws should let the police on Tel 101, or call Crime Stoppers anonymously on Tel: 0800 555 111.
