Following their highly successful concert With A Merrie Noise in the heart of Topsham in September, organised in conjunction with Hospiscare, local a cappella vocal ensemble The Starling Octet are delighted to announce a new concert entitled Northern Lights on 26th November at St Stephen’s Church, High Street, Exeter EX4 3LW.  Profits from the concert will again be donated to the excellent local charity Hospiscare.

The colourful programme comprises choral works by a selection of romantic and contemporary composers, including Ola Gjeilo from Norway who composed the captivating title piece Northern Lights in 2007, much-loved Austrian romantic composer Anton Bruckner, contemporary Welsh composer Paul Mealor whose Ubi Caritas et Amor was sung at the Royal Wedding in 2011, and Finnish choral composer Jaakko Mäntyjärvi renowned for his beguiling set of Four Shakespeare Songs.

Keen supporter Glenda Huggons says about the octet: "The combination of their interesting and unusual programmes, the special atmosphere of their chosen venues and the natural warmth of the intimacy with the audience they create from sharing their passion, always results in a truly captivating concert."

The concert will begin at 8.00pm on Saturday 26th November.  Tickets will be available on the door for £10 (£7 low income) or in advance for £9 (£6 low income).  Under-16s get free entry.  There will be an interval with free refreshments.

Advance tickets can be bought through TicketSource - www.ticketsource.co.uk/event/EIFMLJ
