Police have seized a number of weapons from a house in Exeter.

The find followed a complaint that a man had been assaulted in Ebrington Road, in the city.

The victim received a number of injuries to his face and forehead which required hospital attendance.

Police attended Ebrington Road in order to arrest a male in his 20’s in connection with the assault.  During the course of the arrest attempt a suspected weapon was seen.

A search of the address resulted in a number of seizures including what we suspected are air weapons.  At no stage do we believe any firearm was discharged.

The arrested male has been bailed with conditions and is not residing in the Exeter area.

A police spokesman said: "We understand there are significant community tensions in Ebrington Road and continue to engage with residents to address their concerns. The investigation team are working to progress this matter efficiently to reach and early conclusion."
