DAAT wins support from 'A' Team

New arrival to Exeter, A-Plan Insurance, has underlined its commitment to support the local community by becoming an official supporter of Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT).

The newly opened A-Plan branch on Sidwell Street will be donating £20 per new policy sold in the branch to DAAT when the charity is mentioned.

To mark the commitment, A-Plan is providing the focal point for National Air Ambulance Week from Monday 22 September, with a stand outside its offices from which members of DAAT will be raising money on Wednesday 24 September.

Ian Tuffrey, Branch Manager at Exeter explained, “We are here to support local residents and businesses by providing a very personalised service to offer protection from the unexpected.  Dealing with the unexpected is what Devon Air Ambulance excels at and as a charity close to the hearts of so many people in Exeter and the surrounding areas, it was a natural choice for our support.  We certainly hope to raise awareness of this important charity during National Air Ambulance Week and beyond.”

We also recognise that charities like DAAT need help with funding all year round and that is why after September, we will continue to make donations when people mention the charity when taking out a new policy.”

DAAT plays a crucial role in helping injured and ill patients get to hospital when time is of the essence. Formed by Ann Thomas, in memory of her son, Ceri Thomas, who was fatally injured in a road traffic collision in 1986 when he was 18 years old, the Trust began flying in August 1992 covering the whole of Devon. Every year the Charity needs to raise £4.5 million to run the service and is reliant on the generosity of volunteers and local businesses to help.
