Local primary schools take part in Cool Maths Week
School children from Stoke Hill Junior School, Clyst Hydon Primary School, Chagford Primary School, Sidmouth Primary School, St Michael's Church of England Primary School and The Duchy School joined Exeter Junior School pupils in an entertaining 'Cool Maths Show' held at Exeter School on Tuesday 11 March as part of 'Maths Week 2014'.
Dr Lea from The Cool House of Learning, entertained 60 pupils, plus staff and parents, with her very 'Cool Maths Show'. Pupils watched in amazement as Dr Lea created a huge loop from one piece of A4 paper, big enough for more than two pupils to climb into as well as stepping inside a wonderfully colourful Icosidodecahedron.
All pupils, staff and parents were invited to solve challenges, puzzles and create their own incredible maths as they moved around the different work stations.
This Year Three enrichment activity was organised by Ms Barnes, Maths Coordinator at Exeter Junior School. She said: "So much fun and learning was had by all that we very much look forward to inviting our friends from local schools again next year when we hold our 'Maths Week 2015'!"
