It has been another busy weekend for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, with crews being called to a second blaze near Exeter city centre.

Crews attended the incident at the A38 B Carriageway between Splatford Split and Pearces Hill due to a Land Rover fire.

The incident, which occured at 1.36pm today ( Sunday 26th January), resulted in two fire appliances from Middlemoor and Danes Castle being mobilised.

Crews used 2BA and 2 hose reel jets to extinguish the fire, which started accidentally and caused severe damage.

Duty of care was left with the owner awaiting recovery.

Just the day before crews attended a similar incident at Danes Castle in which a car was on fire.
